Guaranteed Garage Door Repairs in Texas
Whether your garage door is manual or automated, properly operating springs are responsible for the ease of opening and closing your door. Because the springs take the weight of your door, they are subject to high wear and their lifespan is limited.
Same Day Garage Door Spring Repair
If breakage occurs, Lincoln Garage Doors is at the ready to replace your springs, and ensure your door is working properly.
Torsion Springs or Extension Springs?
There are 2 main types of garage door springs, torsion and extension springs. Here’s how you can tell which type your garage door uses:
- Torsion Springs:
- Torsion springs are mounted horizontally above the garage door opening.
- They work by twisting or “torqueing” as the door opens or closes, storing and releasing energy to help lift and lower the door.
- Torsion springs are considered safer because they are typically located in a closed, metal shaft which reduces the risk of them snapping or coming loose.
- Extension Springs:
- Extension springs are mounted vertically on either side of the garage door or above the horizontal tracks.
- They work by extending and contracting as the door moves, providing the necessary force to lift and lower it.
- Extension springs are typically less expensive than torsion springs but are considered to be less safe due to the potential for them to fly off if they break.
DIY Garage Door Spring Repair Is Dangerous
Your garage door spring can break any time, and many people think replacing it is something you can do yourself. But BEWARE – unless you know what you are doing, and have the proper tools, replacing a broken garage door spring can be very dangerous. If your garage door is not opening, chances are your spring has snapped.
Don’t Use Your Garage If A Spring Is Broken
Continued attempts to run the door and operator system when there is a broken spring can be dangerous. But will also cause more damage to the door system. The springs on the garage door are powerful and can cause significant injury. Get a professional to look at it.
When your garage door springs no longer work or don’t work properly, call us. We will send a licensed and bonded professional technician to help you in the blink of an eye.

Great service and even worked late to get it done. I don’t think anyone enjoys coming home to a garage door that has fallen down.
